WI Governor’s Budget Would Eliminate Tourism Position

Northern Great Lakes Visitor Center Employee in Danger

Governor Walker’s current budget proposal would eliminate the visitor services coordinator position at the Northern Great Lakes Visitor Center.

The position is crucial in providing information to visitor’s and the cut would impact activities coordinated.

The employee in Ashland holds the only tourism position at the center.

There were more tourism positions at the center, but staffing cuts left only one tourism position open.

Last year, more than 125,000 members of the public visited the tourist center.
