Community members and local artists are coming together to help out a man very instrumental to the local music scene.

A benefit kicked off at RT Quinlans for Eric Swanson, the head recording engineer at Sacred Heart Studio.

Recently he suffered a massive stroke.

Event coordinators say the fundraiser is to help make up for lost income and to support him and his family during this transitional period.

“The music and arts community in Duluth is very small but it’s a very tight, loving community,” event coordinator and close friend Scott Lillo said. “When one of our people need help we all just immediately jump in and help.”

If you missed the event donations are still being taken for Swanson at the National Bank of Commerce.
