Authorities Release Identity of Victim in Solway Township Fire

Solway Township Fire Victim Identified

St. Louis County Sheriff’s officials have identified the victim of a fatal fire in Solway Township.

They say 37-year-old Damien Rosen is the person who was found inside the home.

Authorities say the Medical Examiner’s Office is working to determine his official cause of death.

However, initial findings suggest Rosen died from asphyxiation due to smoke/carbon monoxide inhalation.

Rosen had been staying at the home at 6212 Morris Thomas Road for about 2 to 3 weeks but also has ties to San Bernardino, CA.

The origination and cause of the fire is still being investigated by the State Fire Marshal’s Office.

At this point the fire doesn’t appear to be suspicious in nature.

The home is owned 54-year-old James Weir.
