Rose Garden To Bloom Soon

In a couple of weeks, a popular flower will make its debut in the Leif Erickson Park.

Right now, the roses for the Rose Garden are covered with bags of leaves to protect them from the harsh winter.

Volunteers tell FOX 21 the ground is still frozen, but they expect to raise the roses next month, adding more to the smells and sights of spring.

“It makes me feel high on life,” said Mike Masterson. “Blue skies, sunshine and the Lakewalk right on the shores of the lapping Lake Superior. It’s a beautiful day and a nice place to be.”

If you are interested in volunteering to help raise the roses, just give the Duluth Parks and Recreation department a call at (218) 730-4300.
