The 6th annual Northland Community Wellness day kicked of inside UMD’s Romano gymnasium.

More than 70 vendors were there educating event goers about health, financial literacy, public safety and much more.

There were also breakout sessions offered every thirty minutes on gardening cooking and relaxation.

“Right now we’re looking at the medical system possibly going bankrupt in the next 10 years due to preventable diseases such as diabetes,” St. Louis Country Health Promotion Coordinator Tiffany Kari said. “So it’s up to us to get information out to the community members. So that our neighbors are making healthy decisions, our families, our friends.”

About 2000 family and friends were expected to come out to the event.
