Thirteen bands, seven stages, one day; it’s happening Wednesday on the University of Minnesota Duluth campus.

KUMD is hosting the first ever campus music festival called NorthFest.

Bands will be scattered throughout campus lounges performing at various times.

Organizers say it’s their way of bringing together the campus and the rest of Duluth.

“I hope they’re inspired and they listen and find some tunes that they dig and eventually go out into the community and seek out that music and get involved with the local Duluth music scene and culture,” said KUMD assistant marketing director and event organizer, Emma Deaner.

With homegrown music festival right around the corner, organizers see NorthFest as a kickoff to a great month of music in Duluth.
