The gateway to a historic site in Duluth is getting a much needed facelift.
Workers took off the 100-year-old front doors of Glensheen Mansion Wednesday.
They have been touched up in the past, but not fully renovated.
The doors will return just in time for seven day a week tours April 20.
“It really doesn’t happen that these are taken off their hinges and it’s just a part of the continual effort that we are doing here at Glensheen to really preserve the history in its early 1900 glory,” said Jane Pederson, marketing manager at Glensheen.
Three million dollars in restorative work was also recently finished at the mansion.
