Every 2 seconds somebody needs blood.
Local donation centers in The Northland want to remind people that there is always a need for blood, and encourage people who can to come in and donate.
“There is no substitute for blood, so we rely on our community members to come in and donate blood to replace the blood that is used by the different patients,” explained Joelle Spannbauer with Memorial Blood Centers. “And every 2 seconds somebody needs blood, so the need is always there.”
In Minnesota, there is a current need for blood types B and O, both positive and negative.
