Celebration of UMD Women’s Hockey

DULUTH, Minn. – More than 100 people gathered Saturday evening to honor the legacy of the UMD Women’s Hockey program.

Former Head Coach Shannon Miller, her staff and the 2015 seniors were celebrated for their accomplishments with pictures, music and guest speakers.

“I have to figure out my life. I don’t know where it’s going to take me. I’m not scared at all, I’m actually very excited about the potential the future holds, I don’t know what it is, but I do know that I will land on my feet hit the ground running and I know I’m going to be very successful at whatever it is I end up doing,” said Former Head Coach Shannon Miller.

There was a also a silent auction Saturday evening to benefit Julianne Vasichek.

She is UMD Women’s Hockey strength and condition coach as well as equipment manager, who recently underwent an emergency liver transplant.
