Food options at the Holiday Center are growing with two new eateries moving in.

The spaces have been vacant for years and both owners are excited to expand.

How Sweet It Is Cakes is currently located in the Downtown Medical Arts Building and will soon be bringing their bakery and deli to the space where Z’s Delis and Restaurants was in the Holiday Center.

Eileen Brown, owner of How Sweet It Is, says they outgrew their current space years ago and are in need of an expansion.

Besides lack of space, Brown said employees are more prone to injury, work overtime and easily lose things in such a cramped area.

One addition will be a glass window so customers can see the staff working on cakes.

“It’s kind of like the wizard behind the curtain and a lot of people have asked to watch us decorate.  So, we will be able to have that available for the public as well as just more seating, we can expand our menu, bring out more product and have cakes in the store,” said Brown.

Valentini’s will also be joining How Sweet It Is.

Owner, Carol Valentini, says she wants it to be a “grab and go” restaurant at lunch when food traffic is at it’s busiest.

But first, both spaces need to be remodeled and permits need to be secures.

Both eateries plan to move in at the beginning of June.
