Authorities Investigate Morning Bus Crash

Duluth Police Investigate Crash Scene

FOX 21 was on the scene this morning of a crash involving two Duluth Transit Authority buses. 

Jim Heilig, Director of Planning and Administration for the Duluth Transit Authority, tells FOX 21 there are passenger injuries and operator injuries. 

Heilig says he believes there could be a fatality from the accident.

He also tells us he believes there were less than a dozen people on each bus at the time of the crash. 

The Duluth Police Department is asking the public’s assistance in taking alternative routes due to the closure of Superior Street from 4th Avenue West to 5th Avenue West.  

The crash happened around 5:05 a.m.

Duluth Police is currently working a crash scene.
