UMD students have teamed with Animal Allies to create a scholarship for college students to train and register their pets to be certified therapy animals.

The Prints for PAWS fundraiser was held at The Master Framing Gallery, with a percentage of artwork sales donated to a fund to create this new scholarship.

“College students need the money, and a lot of them would do it but they can’t afford it because the scholarship costs about $200,” said UMD Student Ryan Kosciolek. “This way they can get it for free, and then they can enjoy it that way.”

This event all started as a project in a Health Education Specialist class at the university.
