DULUTH, Minn. – It has been a few weeks since 8-year-old Cole Merritt has a bicycle.

He and his family lost everything in the Applewood Knoll Fire.

Saturday afternoon Duluth Police Department took the young boy and his mother shopping to Target, so he could get a new bicycle.

Cole picked out this shiny new red bike and a helmet.

“I feel really thankful and really happy that I have a new bike,” said Cole Merritt.

Since the fire Cole and his mom have found a new place to live in Duluth’s Congdon neighborhood.
