United Properties is proposing to build the brand new Kenwood Village on the southeast corner of Kenwood Avenue and Arrowhead Road.

The four-story-mixed use project will include 85 market rate studio to three bedroom apartments with balconies, community and outdoor space as well as 190 parking spots.

More than 14,000 square feet of retail space will house fast, casual restaurants and other tenants like banks and offices.

“We think we’re paying respect to the residential flavor of the neighborhood,” United Properties Senior Vice President Keith Ulstad said. “We’re working hard with our staff and architect LHB to select materials that will be contemporary but have a timeless quality to them too.”

United Properties has acquired three homes for the project.

The commercial and real estate developers held a meeting Wednesday with residents in the Kenwood neighborhood to address any concerns and answers questions.

The design and development plan still has to be finalized.

If all goes well construction will begin this summer and wrap up by summer of 2016.
