DULUTH, Minn. – Hundreds gathered to take part in Healthy Kids Day at the Duluth Area Family YMCA.

The free community event aimed to inspire kids to keep their minds and bodies active.

To get them pumped up to play and be active the Y hosted family Zumba, a bounce house, rock climbing, and even a stand up paddle boarding event in the pool.

“(There are) so many different opportunities for poor decisions. We really want to showcase the good decisions that can be made. We want to show that there are activities in Duluth: our Children’s museum, our Duluth kids club, Saint Luke’s Family Medicine Practice. We have all of these awesome places that want to support kids and getting active and getting out there,” said Katie McBride Duluth YMCA’s Marketing Director.

YMCA Healthy Kids Day is celebrated at 1,300 Y’s nationwide.
