Funeral held for mother and son killed in fire
Family killed in Cornucopia fire laid to rest
A mother and son killed in a Cornucopia house fire were laid to rest Saturday.
Governor Scott Walker ordered flags to be flown at half-staff for an emergency medical technician who died while trying to save his mother from a northern Wisconsin fire.
62-year-old Dennis Swenson went into a Cornucopia home to try to save his 95-year-old mother, Dorothy Swenson, from a fire May 1, but both ended up dying.
Walker signed an executive order, ordering the flags lowered Saturday.
A memorial service for the pair was held Saturday, May 9th.
In a statement, Walker said the longtime volunteer EMT represented the service and sacrifice of all emergency responders.
