A community event encouraged kids to get out of the house and into the outdoors.

The Duluth area YMCA and UMD collobrated to host the third annual Nature of Duluth at the Park Point Beach House.

Children of all ages got to participate in a wide range of activities including biking, canoeing, archery and scavenger hunts.

“We’re trying to encourage kids to come out and explore outside instead of sitting inside all day,” UMD student Adam Burggraff said. “Just to get out and explore nature in healthy ways.”

All the proceeds from the event will help sponsor kids to go to Camp Miller,
a summer camp where they can discover outdoor recreation and make lifelong friendships.
