For the first time free children’s literacy programming is being offered at the Miller Hill Mall.

For the next seven weeks the Duluth Library Foundation will host different events there promoting reading and learning.

Activities include poetry and a red carpet event.

This Saturday from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. kids will be able to read with a therapy dog.

“To get reading out there for the kids and to promote literacy it’s something we love, we value,” Duluth Library Foundation executive director Patra Sevastiades said. “It makes for success for our community when our kids are successful.”

Kids will also go home with a book courtesy of the Big Red Bookshelf.
