Duluth East’s Daredevils Robotics Team is now state champions.

Thirty teams from across the state battled it out this past weekend.

Heading into the championship round the Daredevils had an advantage thanks to their robot’s top-notch performance.

They had first pick at what other teams they wanted to form an alliance with as they tackled the final round of competition.

“Our first state championship. These things usually reside down in the Twin Cities. Our two alliance partners were from the Twin Cities, but this one came north,” said Daredevils Robotics Coach Timothy Velner.

This is the Daredevil’s 8th season and by far their most successful.
