After 12 year with Grand Avenue Veterinary Clinic in West Duluth, Justin Dahl moved back to his hometown of Superior and opened up a clinic of his own.

Happy Tails Animal Hospital opened May 1.

The hospital cares for dogs, cats, bird, rabbits, ferrets and snakes.

Dahl can also care for large farm animals.

He says he wanted to open a business that is reasonably priced and stresses customer service.

“For a lot of people these are their kids.  Especially for a lot of empty nesters who don’t have kids in the house anymore.  They are their babies and it says a lot when they trust you to care for their pets,” said Dahl. ” It’s like your own human doctor.  If they aren’t nice to you and can’t tell that they care about you, you don’t want to go to that doctor.  No matter how smart they are or how convenient their location is, a lot of this is customer service type of stuff.”

By focusing on the customer, Dahl hopes to expand his practice in Superior.

Happy Tails is located at 1327 Banks Ave.
