St. Louis County isn’t backing down when it comes to tackling the issue of invasive species.

The county has received a $900,000 grant from the State of Minnesota for its Aquatic Invasive Species Prevention program.

St. Louis County has the second-highest number of places to launch boats in the state.

“We really want to partner with organizations that are working in that area or are familiar with it, like lake associations, soil and water conservation districts, local units of government to really come forward with proposals,” said St. Louis County Planning and Community Development Director Barbara Hayden.
