Tasting Summer Wines for National Wine Day

Wine Tasting for Summer

Sorry, this video is no longer available

Today is National Wine Day!

Wine has a history that dates back thousands of years.

In 1867, archaeologists in Speyer, Germany discovered the oldest bottle of wine in existence while they were excavating two Roman stone sarcophaguses.

It dates back to at least 325 A.D.

The bottle of wine is now on display at the history museum of the Pfalz in Germany.

To celebrate this day, Marc Carrigan, with Foley Family Wines, stopped by FOX Sunrise to sample some wines that are perfect for summer months.

He brought some “Summertime Favorites”:

-Sebastiani Vineyards Zinfandel (great BBQ)

-Chalk Hill Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir (great with grilled salmon/fish)

-Piccini Pinot Girgio

-Clifford Bay Sauvignon Blanc

-Lincourt “Steel” Chardonnay
