South Range Man Killed in Crash in Bennett

A South Range man died as a result of injuries sustained in a two-vehicle crash Sunday afternoon in Bennett.

The crash, reported at 3:37 p.m. on 5-24-2015, occurred at the intersection of USH 53 and CTH L.

A 2012 Volkswagon Passat, operated by Gregory Willis, 68, South Range, was eastbound on CTH L crossing USH 53 when it failed to yield to a northbound 2005 GMC 1500 pick-up, operated by 33-year-old Joseph Schiff, of Superior.

Schiff reported a leg/ankle injury.

A two-year old child properly restrained in a child safety seat in the back seat of the Schiff vehicle was uninjured.

The crash remains under investigation by the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office.
