UMD Alumni Featured on Animal Planet Show

'The Last Alaskans'

A UMD alumni is featured in an Animal Planet docuseries that begins Memorial Day.

Tyler Selden and his wife Ashley are one of four families featured in the eight part show ‘The Last Alaskans’.

After graduation in 2006 Selden moved to Fairbanks.

For part of the year he and his wife life on the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge, some of the most isolated terrain in Alaska.

Right now, only a handful of families spread across seven permitted cabins are allowed to remain in the refuge.

”It seems like every time she and I come out here we look forward to it more and more. I think in a way we’re both just addicted to it now, just can’t stop doing it,” said UMD Alumni Tyler Selden.
