Iron Range School is Expanding

A school on the Iron Range is growing to get kids ready for education at an earlier age.

The $9 million dollar expansion at Parkview Learning Center in Virginia will include a new cafeteria, gym and space for 8 classrooms to make way for early childhood education for four year olds.

“If we’re going to close the achievement gap for kids when they get to be seniors we have to start right when they’re four,” Parkview Learning Center Principal Michael Krebsbach said. “Keep the achievement gap from becoming a gap at all.”

Construction is expected to start later this week and take about 15 months to complete.
