Andrews Pleads Guilty to Felony Murder

A murder trial set to happen Tuesday in Superior has been canceled because the suspect pleaded guilty.

Eighteen year old Chance Andrews entered the plea to a count of felony murder.

Andrews had been facing charges of first degree reckless homicide and armed robbery before reaching a plea agreement with prosecutors.

He caused the death of 20-year-old Garth Velin last September during a botched robbery attempt.

His sentencing is now set for September.

Fox 21’s Avery Neuville will have more on this story tonight on Fox 21 news at 6 & 9.
