Thursday night, The Lake Superior Zoo partied as a way to say thanks to its members.

It was called ‘Mad Safari’ and recognized the nearly 10,000 zoo members who keep the zoo ticking.

Employees say now more than ever it’s important to take the time to appreciate their loyal members.

“We especially love our members, the members are what make our zoo, and we really want to make sure that they feel appreciated and are having fun, and this is their night, this is a night for them to enjoy their zoo,” said Shana Vesel, Special Events Coordinator at the Lake Superior Zoo.

The zoo is right now under a microscope with the city of Duluth to determine its future use.
