Duluth breweries were preparing Thursday for the first-ever Sunday growler sales in Duluth on June 14.
Earlier this year, the Minnesota State Legislature passed the power of approving Sunday growler sales to city and county governments.
The Duluth City Council went on to approve sales in the city.
Duluth residents and tourists alike will now be able to purchase their favorite local beers on Sundays without having to stay in the brewery or restaurant where it is sold.
Sara Kavajecz of Canal Park Brewery believes the council’s approval is a win for small businesses and will lead to more satisfied customers.
Customer satisfaction isn’t the only positive improvement for the breweries, businesses should also benefit from increased sales.
Canal Park Brewery expect to add as many as 175 growlers to its weekly sales.
