Halvor Lines on Grand Avenue tells FOX 21 right now the trucking industry
is booming and they’re experiencing a shortage of drivers.
They believe with mines idling on the Iron Range they can offer laid off steel workers full time employment with good benefits.
They only ask drivers to be on the road five days a week.
“It’s year round and very stable,” Halvor Lines director of recruiting services Debbie Landry said. “Always important for people to know that basically everything you buy comes by a truck at some point. So trucking isn’t an industry that’s going to go away.”
