Since the economic recession, growth and development in the Twin Ports have bounced back significantly.

Now, several new additions to Superior and Hermantown are set to open this fall.

In Hermantown, a Kwik Trip is going up in front of the Menards on the corner of Arrowhead and Highway 53.

City officials say they are excited to give the community another option.

“They build themselves as a grocery store that sells gas and it’s another opportunity for residents,” said Hermantown’s city administrator, John Mulder.

Crossing over the bridge, city officials are happy to announce a Dunkin’ Donuts will be opening in the former Mr. Movies in Superior.

Construction is expected to finish this fall.

In addition, city officials confirm the first Aldi Grocery Store will be making it’s way to Tower Avenue.

“Bring your own bags, pay for your own cart, there’s a lot of cost cutting measures to keep prices down at least from what I understand.  I think it offers another choice not just here in Superior but also in the Ports,” said Superior’s planning director, Jason Serck.

Just a few months ago, we told you Fleet Farm was in the works in Hermantown. Now, we know the company will be breaking ground in the fall.
