All 50 states, along with 47 countries, will be represented on Saturday in Grandma’s Marathon.

Thursday, many of the runners arrived in Duluth and were getting in some last–minute runs before the big race.

One woman from Belle Plaine, Minnesota says she’s running the race for all the people out there who can’t do it.

“I just came back from Kuwait in the army last fall, and we’ve lost one of our battle buddies, actually two of them, since we’ve been back, so kind of doing it for him,” said runner Karen Anderson.

She says she is most excited for the beautiful scenery and crossing that finish line.
