Hundreds of volunteers were on hand making sure the race went off without a hitch.

About 60 Duluth Superior Rotary Club members volunteered their time to help keep Canal Park clean.

With 12 stations they coordinated garbage and recycling efforts and also walked around picking up trash and heat sheets.

“I think it’s a good reflection of our city that we want to keep this area clean,” said Jesse Frye with the Duluth Superior Rotary Club. “We get a lot of comments from runners thanking us for being down here and doing the recycling and the compost specifically because they don’t want to see all the waste.”

The rotary club also picks up garbage at Tall Ships and other big events.

It’s all part of their monthly service project.
