Grand Ave. Detour Creating Safety Concerns

Homeowners in a Duluth neighborhood are urging drivers to slow down.
The concern is on 71st Avenue West.

Ann Heidemann, who lives on the block, told FOX 21 Wednesday the normally quiet road has become a racetrack while traffic is detoured during Grand Avenue construction.

“I mean the cause of a child being hit — I just couldn’t even imagine,” Heidemann said.

Duluth police also put out a warning on social media about the traffic safety concern.
