The Northland chapter of the American Red Cross is saying thank you to dozens of its volunteers.

The non-profit also celebrated its 100 year anniversary in the Northland at The Depot Thursday.

Volunteers were recognized for help with disasters like the flood in International Falls and the Easter Sunday fire in Duluth.

“Volunteers are the lifeblood of what we do. I think it’s important that they feel appreciated, that they feel part of what we’re doing and that they really feel like what they’re doing is making a difference, not only to their community, but our entire Northland area,” said Dan Williams, executive director of the Northland chapter of the American Red Cross.

About 150 people volunteer for the Red Cross in the Northland.
