Woman Killed by Train in Hinckley

On July 8, 2015 at 12:39 a.m., Pine County Dispatch received a 911 call of a female who had been hit by a train in Hinckley.

The call location was reported as Main Street East and the railroad crossing in Hinckley.

Rescue personnel arrived on scene within minutes and found the female deceased.

The train, operated by “Canadian Pacific”, had been travelling southbound at the time of the accident.

A witness reported the woman had been running, trying to get across the tracks before the train.

The intersection is marked with signals and crossing arms, which appeared to be functioning correctly.

The deceased woman was transported to the Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office for autopsy.

The victims name is being withheld pending notification of family.

The accident remains under investigation by the Pine County Sheriff’s Office as well as the Canadian Pacific and Burlington Northern Railroads.

No further information will be released at this time.
