Bent Paddle Brewery teamed up with Memorial Blood Centers to draw in donors Wednesday night.

From 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. anyone willing to donate a pint of blood was given a free t-shirt, a pint of beer, and a free food item priced $5 dollars or less from The Rambler food truck.

Memorial Blood Centers representative Michele Keil, said donations taper off in the summer months when schools are no longer hosting blood drives and normal donors are busy outdoors.

American blood banks need about 41,000 donations a day to keep up with demand.

Each donation can save up to three lives.
