Woman Killed by Train Identified

Authorities have identified the woman killed by a train in Hinckely.

The Pine County Sheriff’s Office says the victim is 36-year-old Erin Story of Hinckley.

She was killed early Wednesday morning at the railroad crossing on Main Street East.

Rescue personnel arrived on scene within minutes and found her dead.

The train, operated by “Canadian Pacific”, had been travelling southbound at the time of the accident.

A witness reported she had been running, trying to get across the tracks before the train.

The intersection is marked with signals and crossing arms, which appeared to be functioning correctly.

Story was taken to the Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office for autopsy.

The accident remains under investigation by the Pine County Sheriff’s Office as well as the Canadian Pacific and Burlington Northern Railroads.
