Visitation Up at Gooseberry Falls

Gooseberry Falls State Park is seeing an uptick in visitors.

Park management tell FOX 21 they’ve seen a 20% increase in traffic since the beginning of the year.

They believe it has to do with the warmer temperatures.

We asked some people what brought them to Gooseberry.

“The North Shore, there’s a lot of state parks so you can see a lot,” said David Holmbeck of Grand Rapids, Minnesota. “The price of gasoline is down, the weather’s great.”

Gooseberry has more than 600,000 thousand visitors a year.
