DPD Responds to Two Similar Accidents, 90-Minutes Apart

On Sunday, July 12th, 2015 at 3:30p.m., Duluth Police responded to the intersection of Trinity Road and Mall Drive on a report of an accident involving two vehicles causing one of the vehicles to end up on its side. 

Officers arrived at the scene and determined through initial investigation that a vehicle traveling north on Trinity Road driven by a 30 year old female driver with a 5 year old female passenger struck a vehicle crossing the intersection on a green light. 

An 18 year old female driver of the other vehicle involved was struck on the passenger side causing the vehicle to roll. 

Neither the driver nor any passengers of either vehicle involved in the accident were injured.  

No further information is available at this time due to an ongoing investigation.

On Sunday, July 12th, 2015 at 4:57 p.m., Duluth Police responded to the intersection of Trinity Road and Mall Drive on another report of an accident involving two vehicles causing one of the vehicles to end up on its side. 

Officers arrived at the scene and through initial investigation determined that a 70 year old female driver traveling south on Trinity Road struck a vehicle traveling west on Mall Drive and crossing the intersection on a green light driven by a 43 year old  male with a 36 year old female passenger. 

Neither drivers nor passengers of the vehicles involved were injured in the accident.  

The 70 year old female was cited for failing to obey a traffic control device.
