The old Morgan Park school building is one step closer to demolition.
The Duluth School Board voted Tuesday night to move forward with the interested developer for a sale of the building at $100,000.
District officials say the sale price is so low because the building is extremely difficult to re-purpose and will need to come down.
“The cost of that demolition is considerable. And therefore it is weighed against the value of the property and makes the $100,000 offer for that property very reasonable,” said Kerry Leider, property manager for the Duluth School Dist.
The school board also approved to put the Rock Ridge school property back on the market and not as a packaged deal with the Morgan Park property.
