Duluth Firefighters Train in Vacant Buildings

Firefighters Get Training in Vacant Buildings

Sorry, this video is no longer available

Firefighters in Duluth are taking on vacant buildings to prepare for future fires.

The buildings are owned by the College of Saint Scholastica and are about to be torn down.

But before that the college is letting Duluth Firefighters use them for much needed training.

“It’s very important for us because we don’t get an opportunity to do this that often,” Duluth Fire Department training officer Tom Guntzburger said. “I mean we do emergency scenes but we don’t get to take our time and really learn how to do things.”

Training will wrap up Sunday.
