Boating Program Helps Seniors, Veterans & Disabled
St. Louis River Experience Get Seniors on the Water
The St. Louis River experience is showing seniors the fun of recreational boating.
Friday afternoon, SLRE kicked off their senior boating program for Duluth.
The rides are free and provide comfortable amenities for seniors, veterans and the disabled.
“We don’t get around as easily as we used to and consequently it helps a lot to have the services we get and the boat is flat!” said senior, Petey Semmens.
The pontoon fits 20 people and goes out for 2 rides a day.
“Many of us have spent time over the years on the water in one way or another. There’s nothing better than being on the water,” said Semmens.
