A tradition that’s been going on since the 1990’s continued in Superior Sunday.

Community members celebrated Lake Superior Day at Barker’s Island Festival Park.

Live music, art and vendors focused on Lake Superior’s value and connection to locals.

“People know that Lake Superior is special, its special compared to all the other great lakes,” Lake Superior National Estuarine Research Reserve manager Erika Washburn said. “We’re really lucky to have it up here and have a day that’s dedicated to just being thankful for that special lake.”

The event was put on by the Lake Superior National Estuarine Research Reserve.
