For the first time in over 30 years, an American orchestra has collaborated with an Iranian composer and it happened in Duluth.
Friday night, the Lake Superior Chamber Orchestra performed the work of a composer from Iran.
It’s a story based off an old Persian fable that involves puppets and dancing.
But to the composer this collaboration means much more than just putting on a good show.
“I belong to a generation of composers in Iran who seek to find a gap or the bridge between the eastern culture and the western,” said Composer Hooshyar Khayam.
A local youth chorus performed with the musicians.
