St. Mark African American Episcopal Church in Duluth hosted their annual Missionary Tea.

The event was twofold.

It pays homage to the churches founders and raises money to cover operational costs.

“This tea celebration has been going on over 50 years,” St. Mark AME Church missionary president Annie Kennedy said. “It’s great that we can keep it alive in memory of Sarah Allen and Richard Allen who were the founders of AME churches.”

The Missionary Tea also included a silent auction, discussion about African American accomplishments and social justice issues.
