The dog days of summer have arrived and boat landings are keeping busy.

With the warm and humid weather, recreational boating has increased on Lake Superior.

Many have used the water as a way to stay cool and embrace the beauty of Lake Superior.

But some are excited for the heat to go away.

“I live in the North for a reason, I’d rather it was a little cooler. But, it is good for the boating business,” said Owner of Loon’s Foot Marine, Zachary Crosby.

Crosby has seen an increase in boat traffic at his marina.

Not only is the lake shore a cooler place but the water temperature is significantly cooler.

It’s refreshing for boaters and boating businesses are benefiting from the heat.

“This landing is one of the busiest in Wisconsin and a lot of folks launch here to enjoy the wonders of Lake Superior sand beaches.  So, yes it’s been really busy,” said Crosby.
