It’s time to cast your vote for a local competition bringing classical and alternative bands together!
The Duluth Superior Symphony Orchestra is spearheading the DSSO Bridge Sessions competition.
Over the coming months, 20 local, alternative bands will be given challenges incorporating classical and alternative styles.
Whoever has the most online votes, will win a $1,500 commission to create a song for their band and the orchestra which will be performed at the DECC.
“We want to bridge that gap between the serious classical music and the alternative music,” Duluth Superior Symphony Orchestra music director Dirk Meyer said. “To show that there are lots of parallels and we all can learn from each other.”
You have until August 31 to cast your vote.
