Thursday, ice cream lovers had the chance to help sick children by eating a Dairy Queen blizzard.

It’s their 10th annual Miracle Treat Day to raise money for the Children’s Miracle Network and Gillette Hospitals.

“The money stays local and helps local kids. We had a local kid in here this morning. It was great to meet him and his mom and they brought a bunch of blizzards up to Well’s Fargo today,” said Canal Park DQ G.M., Tim Vansoest.

Throughout the day, one or more dollars from every blizzard sold will be donated.

“This is a great day.  It’s a little hectic sometimes.  But, we have a lot of fun today and love being a part of such a great organization as Children’s Miracle Network,” said Vansoest.

The Canal Park DQ sold well over 300 blizzards before noon.
