Families Receive Free School Supplies in Superior

The 10th Annual Lakefest took over Barker’s Island, Saturday.
Visitors to the one day event were treated to live music and free games and prizes.
The festival put on by a group of local churches also provided free school supplies to those in need, as well as diapers and non-perishable foods.
Organizer Rose Ligman said the idea of providing school supplies came to her when she visited a ministry in New Orleans that held a similar event.
Ligman says the school supplies are the most popular attraction, because they cost families the most at this time of year.
