Man dies after being trapped under flipped pontoon

(AP) – A Minnesota man is dead after he was trapped under a pontoon when it flipped over.

The Star Tribune reports three men were on the pontoon Friday morning on Golden Pond near Willmar, Minn. when it flipped.

Authorities say Philip Thissen, a 76-year-old Clara City man, had been trapped under the boat for 20 minutes when they arrived.

Divers removed Thissen and declared him dead.

Jerry Anderson, 76 of Prinsburg, and Gordon Rothwell, a 72-year-old man from Clara City, were also on the boat at the time.

Neither man was injured.
